Make it YOURS....yes, YOURS! (Aug/Sept 2009)Scrapboook Etc.


Starting with the August/September 2009 reader issue, we’ve decided to change up the Make It Yours column by making it a challenge and opening it up to you!

From now on, we’ll give you a sneak preview of the three original layouts each issue here on our Challenge Blog so you can have a chance to submit your versions of them.

You can use one of our originals to make a literal scraplift, add photos to the basic design, expand it to two pages, or use it simply as a starting point to make it your own.

When you’re done, simply post a scan or photo of your creation in our Make It Yours Challenge gallery. We’ll pick our favorites based on these three originals to appear in the August/September 2009 issue, so be sure to tell us in the caption which layout inspired you, why, and what you did.I will need to see your scans/photos by March 6, 2009.

I was inspired by Mary MacAskill’s ” Cute as a Bunny” layout. She was using buttons to embellish the photo which is the basis for my layout. I used lots of pink and light red buttons as a semi border to the photo. As well as flowers fastened with brads. Semi scallop journaling paper, permanent textile paint and distressed ink for the title. Paper scraper for the torn edges of the photo and the backing paper.
